This day, 7 years ago! With Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase & Co. Those who know me well, know that I don’t give up easily on people and causes I’m deeply passionate about! This very same day in 2016 was my last night (officially) in UK. I was swamped with deliverables and my final deal deck, my farewell, and visit of the world’s most powerful banker, Mr. Dimon, were all happening at the same time. I have always been more fascinated with business/political figures than with moviestars. So this chance of even getting just a glimpse of him was something I was NO WAY letting go of. I wrapped up my work and rushed into the tube and then a taxi in ~sub-zero night temperatures of London, reaching the venue and sneaking into the event, really really LATE! Like a kid, I managed to make my way to the front by pushing through the crowd and that’s when I had my life’s first ever celebrity moment, catching his glimpse as he was addressing a large crowd. I was mindblown to see that this person was just a normal human being like the rest of us!! That a man with such high stature and achievements was so kind and down to earth, he even bothered to speak with me for ~30 seconds of his life. Me! A junior analyst! The lowest in the investment banking hierarchy! And that’s when I mustered the courage to ask him ‘Can I please take a picture with you?’ To which, he smiled and happily obliged! 😄 I kept sending this picture to all my friends for atleast 3 days that followed xD If I hadn’t taken that chance of leaving from work, due to fear of reaching late, I probably wouldn’t have even seen Mr. Dimon, let alone getting a picture with him. It is instances like these that keep reminding me that ‘Fortune indeed favors the brave!!’ and to always be modest and keep moving forward regardless of obstacles. I just completed JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s "Investment Banking Job Simulation" by Forage. In the simulation I: • Identified an ideal M&A target for a client based on an assessment of their strategic and financial criteria. • Constructed a DCF model to calculate the valuation of the M&A target and adjusted the model to account for a competitor bid and supply chain interruption. • Created a 2-pager for the client containing a company profile and summary of the auction process.
